Tri-State Generation &Transmission Association offers “The Story Behind the Switch” to area fourth and fifth graders studying electricity. “The Story Behind the Switch” is a traveling, hands on demonstration program that teaches students about different types of generation of electricity and the path it takes to get to our homes from the power plant. The program also includes important safety information. The many hands-on training aids included a plasma ball to demonstrate how glass works as an electrical insulator and a Van de Graaf generator that shows how static electricity travels through the human body (shown here). If you are interested in having a presentation for your students, please call us at (970) 565-4444 to schedule.
