Student Scholarship

Eight (8) student scholarships are available for Montezuma-Cortez High School in the amount of $1,000 each. These scholarships will be available to student affiliated* with Montezuma-Cortez High School for accredited two-year community colleges or for four-year college and university programs. 

Four (4) student scholarships are available for each of the following high schools: Dolores, Dove Creek, Mancos, and Monticello in the amount of $1,000 each. These scholarships will be available to student affiliated* with the above high schools for accredited two-year community colleges or for four-year college and university programs. 

All scholarships are to be submitted to Empire Electric Association's main office. The recipient must be a dependent of an EEA member and must use the scholarship within the next school year following graduation.  If a scholarship is not used, it will be awarded to another applicant.

One (1) scholarship will be awarded throughout EEA's service territory each year by Basin Electric Power Cooperative. The student with the highest GPA and ACT scores in all five high schools will automatically receive this scholarship.

*affiliated - Students home schooled or from Southwest Open High School, applications will be included with the school district in which you reside.

Write an essay outlining your career goals, family situation, financial need and why you are applying for this scholarship.
