Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association notified Empire Electric Association that their 2025 budget has been approved. Budget approval finalizes the input data for Tri-State’s formulary rate and allows them to specify the charges EEA will pay for power service in 2025. Tri-State’s individual rate components changed with total demand charges decreasing and the energy charge increasing. The overall impact is revenue neutral, meaning there is effectively no rate increase for 2025.
EEA’s Large Power and Transmission Service rates are also formulary rates and pass through purchased power cost EEA incurs serving these two rate classes. The new billing components shown below will be used to calculate the February 2025 billing statement for power delivered in January 2025:
Generation Demand Charge: $12.35000/kW
Transmission Demand Charge: $11.51000/kW
Energy Charge: $0.03537/kWh
