Empire Electric Association is working with Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association to install a mobile substation at the Mancos substation to allow transformer repairs to be made. A bushing on the transformer was damaged in an unplanned outage earlier this year and must be replaced. The transformer must be de-energized to make the repair.
The outage will begin on Monday August 4 at 11:45 PM in the evening and will last approximately two hours. Members who will be impacted by the outage received phone calls providing advanced warning of the planned outage. EEA’s primary method to alert members about preplanned outages or other emergencies is by phone. Please make sure EEA has a current phone number for your service.
